Couples Counseling & Therapy for Millard Families

If you live in Millard, my office is about eight minutes away, just north of West Center Road near 123rd Street. I work with couples, individual adults and families in Omaha who want a therapist who talks with them, not at them. It’s close enough to make a session and still be home for dinner.

Millard has a way of staying busy. Between Millard Public Schools activities, weekend tournaments and commutes that cover half the metro, plenty of couples wake up one day to realize they’ve become very efficient roommates. If you two can coordinate a carpool but can’t get through a conversation about money or your in-laws without a fight, communication and conflict counseling gives you a better way to have those talks.

Raising kids in a neighborhood full of good schools and packed calendars brings its own pressure. If bedtime has turned into a nightly standoff, or you and your co-parent disagree on nearly every rule, parenting support can help you get back on the same team before the kids figure out how to play you against each other.

Some of the best therapy “homework” happens outside my office. A walk around Zorinsky Lake or the trails at Chalco Hills is a fine place to practice a hard conversation without staring each other down across the kitchen table. I’ll give you specific things to try between sessions, and Millard happens to have some good places to try them.

Engaged? Wedding planning has a way of becoming the template for how a couple handles stress. My premarital counseling gives you real tools, grounded in the research of Drs. John and Julie Gottman, while the stakes are still low. You’ll learn how each of you handles conflict, money and family expectations, and you’ll practice the skills before you need them.

Millard questions

How far is your office from Millard?

About eight minutes from the heart of Millard in normal traffic. The office at 12305 Gold Street sits in the Bel-Air Village area near 123rd and West Center Road, so for many Millard families it’s practically around the corner.

Do you offer evening appointments?

Yes. I have daytime and evening appointments, and weekend times by request, so you don’t have to choose between a session and pickup from practice.

Will I run into neighbors in the waiting room?

It’s unlikely. My office is quiet and discreet, not a busy group practice with a crowded lobby. In a community as close-knit as Millard, that privacy matters to a lot of people.
