Couples Counseling & Therapy for Bellevue and Offutt Families

My office at 12305 Gold Street in West Omaha is about 26 minutes from Bellevue, a straightforward drive up US-75, I-80 and I-680. I work with couples, individual adults and families, including couples connected to Offutt Air Force Base. I’m direct, practical, and I’ll tell you what I think.
Couples and individual therapy for Bellevue residents at Cindy Ridgway’s West Omaha office

Bellevue is one of the oldest towns in Nebraska, from Olde Towne near the river to the trails at Fontenelle Forest. It’s also home to Offutt Air Force Base, which means many families here live with deployments, temporary duty, long shifts and the possibility of a move every few years.

That kind of life puts real strain on a relationship. Reconnecting after time apart, renegotiating who handles what at home, one partner who has been holding everything together and is quietly exhausted. Couples and marriage counseling gives you room to sort it out with a civilian therapist who has no connection to your unit or your chain of command.

Distance from home makes loss harder too. Losing a parent while you’re stationed hundreds of miles away, or saying goodbye to friends every time orders change, can pile up. Grief and loss counseling gives that weight a place to go, so it doesn’t leak out sideways as irritability, numbness or arguments about nothing.

Constant change also feeds worry. If you’re always bracing for the next move or the next phone call, therapy for anxiety and chronic worry can help you calm your mind and feel more settled wherever you are. And yes, 26 minutes is a real drive, so I’ll make the time worth it. I’m interactive and solution-focused, which means you’ll leave each session with something specific to try at home, whether your partner is down the hall or halfway around the world.

Bellevue questions

How far is the office from Bellevue and Offutt?

About 17 to 19 miles, or roughly 26 to 29 minutes depending on where in Bellevue you start. The route is almost entirely freeway, so it’s more predictable than it looks on a map.

Do you work with military couples?

Yes. I see couples and families from all walks of life, including those connected to Offutt. I’m a Nebraska-licensed therapist in private practice, so our work stays between us and isn’t part of any military program.

Can we schedule around shift work?

I offer daytime and evening appointments, and weekends are available by request. Let me know your schedule and we’ll find a time that works for both of you.
