Couples Counseling & Therapy for Elkhorn Families

Elkhorn has changed fast. Old Town Elkhorn around 204th and Main still feels like a small town, but new subdivisions keep stretching the map in every direction. Many of the people moving into those new homes are building a marriage at the same time they’re building a household, and that’s a great time to learn how to fight fair. My Gottman-informed couples therapy draws on decades of research into what keeps couples connected.
Young families here know the squeeze: two jobs, kids in Elkhorn Public Schools and three activities apiece, and a relationship that gets whatever is left at 10 p.m. If you feel more like co-managers than partners, intimacy counseling helps you rebuild the emotional and physical closeness that slipped away while you were busy.
Little kids bring big feelings, and not only theirs. If you’re trying to stay calm through tantrums, sibling fights and bedtime negotiations, parenting support gives you a plan you and your partner can both stick to. I also run a monthly Thursday-morning group, The Mommy’s, for moms of kids under five.
You may also prefer a therapist a little outside your own town. A session in West Omaha means you’re not bumping into a fellow soccer parent in the lobby, and my quiet office keeps it that way. If you’re heading to Village Pointe or Lakeside afterward, you’re already pointed in the right direction for the ride home.

Elkhorn questions
How far is the office from Elkhorn?
About 17 minutes from central Elkhorn in normal traffic. West Center Road is the straightest shot; once you pass Oak View Mall at 144th Street, you’re only a few minutes away.
Do you offer evening appointments for commuters?
Yes. I offer daytime and evening appointments, and weekends can be arranged by request. If you work in central Omaha, stopping on the way home is easy.
We just got married and moved to Elkhorn. Is it too early for counseling?
Not at all. Some of my favorite work is with newly engaged and newly married couples who want good tools before problems set in. It’s a lot easier to build healthy habits than to undo unhealthy ones.
